Our story began with a vision for sustainable energy. After many years of experience in offshore oilfield drilling, our founder recognized early on that the world’s demand for oil was outpacing supply. In 1990, he made the bold decision to turn towards solar energy and founded Transsolar.
From the very beginning, we explored ways to combine solar power with refrigeration and air conditioning. After six years of dedicated research, development, and field testing, we introduced one of the first solar-powered air conditioners ready for mass production. However, as solar module costs remained high at the time, we shifted our focus to ultra–energy-efficient DC-powered air conditioners. These systems became a breakthrough solution for reducing truck idling, keeping sleeper cabs cool with the engine off, and saving both fuel and emissions.
Today, operating under the name DC Airco, we continue to lead in innovative cooling solutions. Based in the Netherlands, we are strategically located near Europe’s leading suppliers, as well as major transport hubs like Amsterdam Airport and the Port of Rotterdam. This ensures fast, reliable, and cost-effective global shipping.

End-of-Line (EOL) Testing & Validation
Validated under harsh manufacturing conditions
Each DCAirco product is subjected to rigorous end-of-line testing to ensure operational reliability and compliance. Our test systems simulate real-world conditions and measure equipment response across multiple checkpoints. A Certificate of Quality is issued only after all interim tests are successfully passed, including:
Pressure and leak tests using hydrogen/nitrogen
- Electrical integrity verification
- Sensor and probe accuracy checks
- Wiring and air leak inspections
- Sensory analysis and final inspection Every unit is reviewed and signed off by our quality assurance team—minimizing downtime, maximizing uptime.
