DC Airco Secures Major Contract from EMDiesels for Class 66 Locomotive Fleet.

DC Airco is proud to announce that it has been awarded a significant contract by EMDiesels in Aberdeen for the supply of advanced, energy efficient air conditioning systems for the Class 66 / JT42 locomotive series. Under this contract, DC Airco will deliver its DC 17000 – 74 VDC split type rolling stock air conditioning units, engineered specifically for railway operator cabs. Designed for demanding locomotive environments, the DC 17000 provides:

• High cooling performance with low power consumption
• Full 74 VDC operation with soft start technology eliminating power surges
• Factory tested, pre charged systems for fast deployment
• Self sealing quick connect hoses, allowing installation without refrigerant loss
• Compliance with major industry standards, including EN 14813 (cab cooling), EN 61373 (shock & vibration), and EN 45545 2 (fire safety)

These features ensure optimal driver comfort, reduced energy load, and simplified installation on both new-build and legacy locomotives. Installation of the new systems will be carried out by DC Airco’s long standing partner, EMDiesels UK, ensuring high quality integration aligned with operator requirements.
